Installation note

If you installed a previous version of MCE Mail on your PC, then please do the following before installing the latest version:

  • Make sure the Windows Media Center application is not running; close it, if necessary.
  • Look in the system tray and check if the MCE Mail Configuration application is running;
    if so, move the mousepointer over its icon in the system tray, press the right mouse button and from the popup menu select the option named "Exit".

Now you can install the latest version of MCE Mail.
Once you've installed it, please start the MCE Mail Server application first, before restarting the Media Center application.

Version 1.3.0

  • In version 1.3.0 of MCE Mail functionality was added to handle attachments.
    If you receive an e-mail with an image attachment, you can now view the image on your MCE PC; and if someone mails you a sound or movie file, you can play it within MCE.

  • To the page that shows the contents of your inbox, buttons were added for removing messages from the inbox directly.
    This is intended for removing spam.
  • Messages are now shown grouped by date.
